Dashboards provide a real-time view of data in The Anywhere Platform.
Users are able to create their own dashboard or use a template as a starting point. Templates provide a way to create a dashboard very quickly with no configuration knowledge.
The scope of this document covers the administration of dashboard templates, specifically defining which users have access to them.
Creating and editing dashboard templates is covered in Dashboard Configuration
To change who is able to create dashboard using a template, the template must first be in edit mode.
From the menu, select Admin Center under the Administration section.
From the administration workbench, select Dashboard Templates from the Data and Reporting section. This will open the Dashboard Templates dashboard.
Select a template to edit by clicking on the Id (to the left of the record) or the drill-down arrow to the right of the record. This will open the Dashboard Template Detail page.
In the Dashboard Template Detail page click on Edit Template.
Once the dashboard is opened click on the Pencil icon in the title bar as if editing a dashboard.
Click on Open Settings and then select the Access tab.
This tab shows the users and groups who have either View or Edit access. Both types of access allow the creation of a dashboard using this template either by users named specifically or who are part of a group listed here. Groups or users having edit access can also change the template.
Click on the '+' icon beneath the Users or Groups section to add access to a user or group. Click on the 'x' icon next to a user or group to remove access.
To change the access, remove the user or group first and then add them again with the correct access.
Click on Save when done.
Templates can be disabled if they are no longer to be used. This does not affect dashboards that users may already have created using this template.
From the menu, select 'Admin Center' under the 'Administration' section.
From the administration workbench, select 'Dashboard Templates' from the 'Data and Reporting' section. This will open the Dashboard Templates dashboard.
Select a template from the list and either click on the ID column to the left or the drill-down arrow to the right of the template in the list.
This will display the Dashboard Template Detail page. From this page, click on 'Disable Template' to remove it from the library.
Previously disabled report templates will have an 'Enable Template' icon. Click on this to enable the template again.
