Resource pools represent a collection of resources that is managed by one or more people.
For a resource to be assigned to a work that is managed in The Anywhere Platform the resource must first be a member of a resource pool so that the person(s) responsible for assigning resources can do so from that pool.
Resources may be grouped into a resource pool based on certain aligned criteria such as having the same role, same line manager or being in the same business unit. The grouping of resources into a resource pool depends on the organisation and how resource management is handled.
Resource pools are used in a wide variety of locations
When forecasting resource effort on portfolio entities (proposals, projects and services), the resource pool is associated with the forecast so that it is known which pool the resource is expected to be staffed from.
