Reports represent a point in time snapshot of data in The Anywhere Platform. When viewing a previously run report, the data presented in that report is always the same.
Reports are based on a template which defines the data to be displayed in the report, the presentation of that data and the filters that an end user can enter to limit what data is displayed.
This page shows the list of existing report templates from which am end-user can run a report.
This page can be accessed from the Configuration workbench. From the menu, select 'Config Workbench' under the 'Administration' section.
From the configuration workbench, select 'Report Templates' from the 'Data and Reporting' section.
Report templates are created in the same way as a dashboard
To create the report template click on the dashboard (speedometer) icon in the title bar of the page, next to the search icon.
Add content areas to the report template in the same way as for a dashboard. Refer to Dashboard Configuration for further details.
On the properties tab ensure that the 'Type' is set to 'Report' and the template flag is checked.
Click on 'Save' to save the report template.
To edit a report template, click on the ID column to the left of the list or the drill-down arrow to the right of the list.
This will display the Report Template Detail page. From there it is possible to edit the report template if the user has edit rights to the template.
To delete a report template , click on the ID column to the left of the list or the drill-down arrow to the right of the list.
This will display the Report Template Detail page. From there it is possible to edit the report template if the user has edit rights to the template.
Once the template is in edit mode, there will be an option to delete the template.
As an alternative to deleting the template, it can be disabled which will remove it from the library of report templates from which to run a report.
Disabling a template may be useful as a way to prevent users running a report whilst changes are being made to the template.
To disable a dashboard template from the library , click on the ID column to the left of the list or the drill-down arrow to the right of the list.
This will display the Report Template Detail page. From this page, click on 'Disable Template' to remove it from the library.
Previously disabled report templates will have an 'Enable Template' icon. Click on this to enable the template again.
To copy a report template, click on the ID column to the left of the list or the drill-down arrow to the right of the list.
This will display the Report Template Detail page. From this page, click on 'Copy Template' to create a new one as a copy of this one.
