This page will display a list of validations defined in the platform. Validations are used to control end user input for example a field on a form, or a filter on a dashboard or report. This page will also provide the option to create a new validation.
This page can be accessed from the Configuration workbench. From the menu, select 'Config Workbench' under the 'Administration' section.
From the configuration workbench, select 'Field Validations' from the 'Forms and Workflow' section.
Enter text in the filter criteria to restrict the validations displayed
Click on the ‘+’ sign in this page to create a new validation. The Validation Editor will open.
If there is no +' sign then either the user does not have the authority to create a process template.
Click on an existing validation to view the Validation Editor
Click on the ID of an existing validation to view the Validation Editor or click on the right pointing arrow to the far right of the record. From this page it is possible to make updates to the validation.
The validation editor includes a list of configuration items which use the validation. Use this to determine the impact of making changes.
Validations can be deleted but all references to that validation must first be removed.
Click on the validation to be deleted.
In the Validation Editor check for dependent references by using the 'Used By' tab.
If there are no dependencies click on the drop down menu next to the save button and select 'Delete'
Validations can be deactivated to prevent them being used further.
Click on the ID of an existing validation to view the Validation Editor or click on the right pointing arrow to the far right of the record. From this page it is possible to deactivate the validation.
