This dashboard page shows a summary of the financial state of a project.
This page is accessed using the drill-down from the Project Cost content area on the Project Overview Page
The ‘Delivery’ content area shows the financial health of the project and the burn rate.
The Financial Health is based on the Estimate At Completion (EAC) versus the budget. Two statuses are shown: the health according to the current EAC/Budget and the health according to the EAC/Budget as it was when the most recent status report was submitted.
The Burn Rate is a comparison between the forecast (or planned) costs and the actual costs and helps to determine whether the project is spending more than expected. It is presented as a % of the planned costs.
The heatmap provides a visual summary of risks according to their probability and impact.
Use the filters at the top of the dashboard to view all the risks with a particular probability or impact.
The EAC is calculated as:
(the sum of all actuals up to and including the previous month) +
(the sum of all forecast amounts for the current month and beyond)
Any actuals for the current month are considered potentially incomplete so are disregarded from the calculation.
The financial health RAG for a project is calculated automatically based on over or under-utilisation of the budget. The default thresholds are as follows:
These thresholds can be overridden to different values in the content area settings.
This content area shows the total budget (Opex and Capex) summarised by year.
The lifetime costs shows the following:
Total budget (for all years)
Actuals (for all months up to and including the previous month)
Forecast (for the current month and all future months)
Estimate at complete (EAC)
The visual graph shows Actuals as a percentage of budget.
The history content area shows the financials for different points in time.
Lifetime – values in local currency for all previous, current and future time periods
Base Currency – values in base currency for all previous, current and future time periods
Previous Status Report – values at the point the last status report was submitted
Year to date – All months for the fiscal year to date, including current
Previous Year – Previous fiscal year.
The values displayed are as follows:
Approved budget
Baseline – values from the financial baseline
Actual Cost (for Year to Date, this includes actuals for the current month)
Forecast Cost
Estimate at Complete – For YTD this is the same as Actual Cost YTD.
By default, financials on this page are shown in local currency. The only exception to this is the ‘Base Currency’ column in the ‘History’ content area.
If the project is not planning and tracking financials in the base reporting currency, the local currency numbers can be switched to base currency by clicking on the ‘View in base’ icon to the top right of the screen.
To edit the financial plan click on ‘Edit Financials’ at the top of the page. This will allow adjustment of:
