This page shows the details of a business objective, including basic information such as the name, whether it is active, the goal date and priority as well as related entities that contribute towards the objective (projects, proposal and services). The page will also show how the business objective is measured in the form of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
This page is accessed by clicking on a Business Objective in the Business Objectives Dashboard or by clicking on the '+' icon in the same dashboard to create a new Business Objective.
When creating a new business objective, the summary section will be in edit mode. All fields are mandatory:
Click on the Create button to create the business objective. KPIs can be added once this has been done.
Click on the pencil icon in the Summary section to change the basic information.
Once a business objective has been created there will be a ‘+’ sign available in the related KPIs content area. Click on this to define a new KPI for the business objective.
The stats content area shows the date the business objective was created, the goal date and a summary of the entities contributing to the business objective.
Contributing entities are projects, proposals for new initiatives and services. These entities cannot be created from this page. For those with the correct authority, they can be created from the following locations:
Proposals Dashboard - accessible from the Portfolio section of the flydown menu
Projects Dashboard - accessible from the Portfolio section of the flydown menu
Services Dashboard - accessible from the Portfolio section of the flydown menu
Once these entities are defined and linked to the business objective, it will be possible to drill-down to them from this section.
At least one contributory service must be defined in order to report progress against the business objective.
Click on the drill-down stat for the Services to access the list of contributory services. The link to the status report is available on the service overview page.
